In June 2025, severe monsoon flooding swept Pakistan, and recurrent floods in the following months mean families continue to suffer.

Over 2.2 million people have lost their homes. Nearly 13,000 have been injured, while 1,739 people have lost their lives.

Pakistan ranks among earth’s most climate-vulnerable countries, consistently appearing in the top 10 on the Global Climate Risk Index. These crises are exacerbated by economic instability, pushing vulnerable families deeper into poverty.

Over 33 million people affected

The hardest hit areas are Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Punjab, with 1 in 7 people in Pakistan affected by the historic disaster.

Essential infrastructure has also been heavily affected, with the knock-on consequences making it difficult for humanitarian organisations to reach affected areas.

More than 13,000 kilometres of roads have been damaged with 400 bridges destroyed.

The total cost of the damage so far is expected be well over $10 billion.

The humanitarian situation continues to be extremely difficult for millions of people, with many more families expected to be pushed to the brink of survival as the disaster continues to unfold.

As the situation worsens, families in crisis need Islamic Relief’s help more than ever before.
