Donate to Pakistan

A country of strength and resilience, Pakistan holds rich heritage. But millions of people face daily hardships driven by poverty and natural disasters.

Recurring emergencies such as floods, drought and earthquakes have devastated communities, homes and vital infrastructure. These crises are exacerbated by economic instability, pushing vulnerable families deeper into poverty.

Today, 24.7 million are in need of humanitarian assistance (UNFPA, 2024).

Islamic Relief has been working in Pakistan since 1992, delivering urgent aid and helping families rebuild their lives with long-term support. Thanks to your donations, we’re able to provide food, shelter, clean water and livelihoods across Pakistan to those most in need and during devastating floods and disasters.

The impact of disasters

In 2022, Pakistan experienced one of its worst floods in history, leaving a third of the country flooded, killing over 1,700 people and affecting more than 33 million. Homes were destroyed while livestock and crops were washed away.

More recently, unprecedented monsoon rains triggered severe flooding in 2025, claiming more than 1,000 lives and displacing around 2.7 million people across Pakistan. Homes, schools and roads were submerged, and access to clean water, shelter, healthcare and food became critically limited for affected families.

In addition, droughts and earthquakes in areas such as Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir have continued to threaten lives.

Disasters continue to loom every year, with climate change making monsoon rains more intense, and the poorest families paying the price.

When you donate to Pakistan, you can help provide urgent aid and help families recover when it’s needed the most.

Why Pakistan needs your donation

The impact of contaminated water sources, limited healthcare provision, and shortages of water and sanitation all contribute to communities’ daily struggle to survive.

1 in 4 people

are currently living in poverty (World Bank, 2023).

Approximately 22.8 million children (aged 5–16)

are out of school in Pakistan, making it one of the highest numbers globally (UNESCO, 2023).

Around 40%

of the population in rural Pakistan lacks access to clean drinking water (WHO, 2023)

Islamic Relief’s work in Pakistan

Since 1992, Islamic Relief has been a lifeline for communities across Pakistan, responding to emergencies and supporting families to build stronger, safer futures.

Thanks to your generous donations, we’ve delivered urgent aid during devastating floods, droughts and earthquakes, providing food, shelter, clean water and psychosocial support to people in need.

Your Pakistan flood donations

Your donations allowed Islamic Relief to be at the forefront of the humanitarian response from the start of the 2022 floods.

We delivered urgent, lifesaving aid including food, water, sanitation and cash vouchers to 1.5 million people.

In addition, we provided psychosocial support to families going through trauma, alongside building temporary lavatories and learning centres for children.

We also remained on the ground to support families with long-term recovery in the aftermath.

With your donations, we’ve built over 6,400 permanent homes in some of the worst flood-affected districts of Dadu and Sohbatpur. These homes are designed with inclusive features to support elderly people and those with disabilities.

Empowering women across Pakistan

In Pakistan, many women face barriers to education, employment and financial independence, but your donations are helping Islamic Relief change that.

We established Women’s Self-Help Groups (WSHGs) to empower women and increase community development. These groups provide women with a safe and supportive space to come together, share experiences and work collectively to address various social, economic and health-related challenges.

Under our ‘Empowering Widows in Need’ project our Self-Help Groups also provided capacity building and psychosocial support sessions with the Women Self Help Groups.

Additionally, we provide training sessions in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, healthcare, leadership and advocacy to equip women with knowledge and skills that enhance their self-confidence and self-reliance.

Providing water for life

In regions like Balochistan, where climate change and drought make water access increasingly difficult, Islamic Relief is working with communities to create long term, sustainable solutions.

In the remote village of Kambar, Washuk, contaminated groundwater once forced families to travel 100km to fetch safe water. This not only affected the villagers’ health but also impacted their livestock, as people were forced to migrate in search of water.

Thanks to your donations supporting access to water in Pakistan, we installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water filtration plant in the village, providing families with access to clean, drinkable water near their homes, transforming their daily lives and improving health.

Access to safe water doesn’t just meet people’s basic needs, it restores livelihood and helps families build resilience for the future.

Orphan Sponsorship in Pakistan

Our Orphan Sponsorship Programme transforms the lives of vulnerable children and their families across Pakistan, providing them with monthly stipends that help them get food, shelter, education, healthcare and other necessities.

Since 1994, Islamic Relief has sponsored more than 20,000 orphans who have lost one or both parents in Pakistan, and as of 2024, the programme currently supports over 6,000 children in the region.

We also provide higher education scholarships, which have enabled 340 young people to pursue university degrees, giving them the opportunity to build brighter futures.

Your support helps children access essential services, heal from loss, and grow with confidence.

With your support, we’re helping families through crisis, poverty and natural disaster. Donate to Pakistan to help save lives today.
